January 15, 2001   This is how we flipped panels. At the top of the panel, 3 pieces of 2x8 are visible. They are bolted to a full length 2x6 which is in the recess. Eight 8d duplex nails secure it in place. The bar joist has a short length of chain on each end that is attached to the 2x sandwich with clevises and eye bolts. This arrangement may look shaky to some but I set full panels on the upstairs deck by myself.

When it came time to set the east gable, we recruited the help of a neighbor. That panel was 35 feet long and 15 feet high. I guess about 2000 pounds.
